There was a time that I believed that CS was easier to deal with than CIBC.

I have been transferring, buying, OCP, etc, shares for my minor kids for the last couple months. Last month was the first time I did an OCP for my kids, and I dreaded doing it due to some of the comments I have read here. When I have a document that is incorrect, CIBC actually calls me and fixes it over the phone, while CS just sends it back. I now have a direct email, phone# and direct address to the DRP supervisor that stated I can send directly to her from now on. I don't get that from CS.

Reminds me of one time I took my young son to the doctor for a check-up. The doctor was doing some word association with him. The doc said, "Your dad is a man and your mother is a ________?" My son answered, "A lady."

I was seeking for a tool to manage different portfolios (my daughter's RESP, my own Cash / TFSA / Self-directed RRSP account, my husband's CASH / TFSA / ...). I am currently using TD WebBroker's Portfolio Manager. It has dividend reminder etc but I want more features and gain/loss reporting.

I read from one of blogs in the Resource Center regarding "Investment Account Manager". I downloaded it to give it a try. I did not go far since it does not seem to know stocks and mutual funds from TSX. The 1-800 support line is not valid from BC and it is closed today. I'll call tomorrow on the direct line.

Is anyone of you using this software? Any success? Comment on how you find the tool?

You will also notice very quickly that the "boys" on this site are fairly intolerant of extreme laziness and will generally beat a person up over it!

The best way to make up for lack of knowledge is to learn. In this case, the best way to learn is to read, not to "shoot out" vague questions. There is a wealth of information on this site to help you educate yourself, but you will need to work a little. As SOP said in a previous reply, there is no excuse for those who refuse to help themselves.

Stocks don't have dividends. They are just pieces of paper that sit there and do nothing.

Many companies pay dividends though. .... But they don't pay in cash. They usually send a cheque.

Are you in Canada or the US? If in the US, there are way to many to count. I'm assuming you're interested in DRPpable stocks, so if you are in Canada, here's a starting place:

Okay, that was my nice response. My scolding response is that your first post was a month ago. Surely you've gotten some ideas by reading the posts since then? If not, I suggest you do much more reading before posting again, and even more reading before you invest even a penny in anything. I'll take back the scolding if it turns out you're a minor, otherwise there really is no excuse.

none at all - this folks on this site probably know little about cash dividends
