BTW: They based the "net worth top 20%" on the MoneySense yearly evaluation.

What is shows is not that I saved well but how poorly the vast majority of Canadians save.

Tough is getting to the top 10% or 5%.

Most embarrassing of all is opening my Google Alerts tonight and finding my face staring back at me.

Picture's about 15 years old.

Congrats OB. Is this your first article about you, or just the first one in this paper? Either way it's good to celebrate your accomplishments and promote drips.

Also, what kind of a teacher were you? High school economics, history?

alexturcot on 3/14/2009 8:28:39 AM

Congrats! It is very inspiring. It gives me hope to be there one day!

About 3 years ago there was a bit of coverage in a National Post article on DRIPs.

I recall it was written by Boyd Erman.

Elementary 5-7 with a music specialty.

I mentioned this website. The writer e-mailed me this morning to apologize that it was edited out. I told him, "No problem. It's nice to know the Globe & Mail is afraid of us."

I never trust a financial advisor in a tuxedo. Like a magician, you never know what's up his sleeve.

I was singing Haydn's Creation at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. At the last moment the organizers didn't want to use the photo they had and requested another. Ran out to a photographer friend on his lunch. He put me up against this big rock in blazing sunlight. Couldn't keep my eyes open. Notice the squint!

When the program came out they didn't use anyone's photo.

"1993 put him on long-term disability."

this is what we have in common, and this is when i started to look into investing as well (not the year, just the change in income)........and found d.f.'s book on dividends, and then thru his other book, i found this site........

i went on disability in 1995.....and had a much better income than i do now, but blew it on animals, jeeps, horse trailers, etc.....

sOaBy, this gives me renewed hope, i just assumed that u were doing this for a lot longer........no matter what i will send at least 200 dollars per month to my companies......the ones that are on sale.....
